U.S. government signs an agreement with ZTE to lift export ban

ZTE’s woes within the U.S. are about to come to an in depth. The Chinese telecommunications large has signed an agreement with the Department of Commerce that may lift the export ban — which can permit ZTE to do trade with American providers like Qualcomm. ZTE was once issued a denial order in April after it was once printed that the producer violated sanctions towards North Korea and Iran.

ZTE is now required to entire a $400 million escrow cost, following which the ban shall be lifted:

The three-month saga is estimated to have value ZTE upwards of $three billion, in accordance to Bloomberg. The corporate had to appoint a brand new chairman and exchange its senior control, and whilst the export ban is about to be lifted, ZTE may face additional consequences from the U.S. Senate.
